Frequently Asked Questions About Giving

Is my donation tax deductible?

The full amount of your donation is tax deductible. You will receive a giving statement at the end of the year reflecting the total amount you have given via online giving and traditional giving.

Is there a way to designate my giving?

Yes. During the “review and continue” step of the checkout process, you will see a text box labeled “Donation Type (tithe, missions, etc.)” That box serves the same function as the memo line on a paper check. When the donation type is not specified, all donations will go into a “tithes and offerings” category of the general budget.

Do I have to have a PayPal account to give online?

No. You can checkout as a guest using a credit or debit card. If you want to donate using an online bank draft (with your bank’s routing number and your checking account number), you must set up a PayPal account.

How do I check out as a guest (if I do not have a PayPal account)?

Scroll down the check out page to heading “Don’t have a PayPal account?” Then click “Continue.” From there you can enter your credit or debit card information. (Note: even though it says you can use a “bank account (where available),” use of a bank account is not available for our church, unless you set up a PayPal account.)

Do I have to pay any additional fees for paying online?

No. The entire amount you wish to give will be counted as a donation. You will have no additional charges added and no charges will be taken out of your donation.

What are my options for recurring donations?

Right now, we are only able to accept recurring donations on a monthly basis.

Will I receive a confirmation of my donation?

PayPal will send an email to the address used during the checkout process confirming the amount given.

How do I cancel my recurring donation?

If you have a PayPal account, login and cancel your recurring donation. If you creating a recurring payment without a PayPal account, you must contact PayPal or the church and request cancellation of the recurring payment.

Does this really work?

Yes. It does.
